Premier Medical Park has risen
from the ashes of the former Cumberland Square Shopping Center
to become Cookeville's signature medical center—home to
over 18 medical practitioners and support services. Also
available on-site is MedPlus Pharmacy and Premier Perk, a
small luncheonette.
The first phase included the renovation and re-design
of two of the existing structures (the 24,000-SF, two-story
building and the 7,800-SF, single-story north building),
as well as the demolition of another single-story building.
Components of the design include a new facade with enclosed
storefront conversion, new roofing, new HVAC and site utilities,
and installation of common area amenities (elevators, stairwells,
and restrooms). A master plan was developed to include
expanded parking, lighting, signage and landscaping.
Phase II ran from the beginning of 2000 to year's end
in 2001, consisting of 11 tenant build outs of medical
office suites. Complete turnkey design, including interior
design services, were provided.
In the fall of 2003, plans to double the size of Premier
Medical Park with the addition of a two-story annex
to the south began. The new annex connects with the existing
two-story building via a second-level glass walkway that
spans a covered drive for patient drop-offs. An additional
parking area was developed adjacent to the park.
In addition to designing the expansion, Stamps Design
Group provided interior design for the expansion and relocation
of Lisa Whiteaker, MD, Dermatology offices from the existing
building to the new. Now located in the south annex, Dr.
Whiteaker's suite comprises 3,094-SF.
During the expansion, Premier undertook an additional
project of up-grading the finishes and palette of the existing
two-story building
to coordinate with the new annex. Stamps Design Group provided
interior design services for the entire Premier Medical
Park finishes project. Now, at completion, the entire medical
park sports a warm, inviting new look. |
