The TennCare building was the recipient of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce Beautification Award in late fall of 2005.
This four-story office building
is a build-to-suit project developed by Hearthwood Properties
(McMinnville, Tennessee) to meet State of Tennessee facility
requirements. The end product allows TennCare's 800-plus
personnel to consolidate all operations at one location.
The new campus meets Metro Center's restrictive covenants
that emphasize landscaped lighted grounds, ample parking,
and a pleasant environment.
The exterior facade features two textures of EIFS (exterior
insulation finish system), both manufactured by DryVit.
The upper portion is a red-tone custom fabrication with
a brick texture; the lower contrasting portion, in a creamy
beige, offers a limestone finish. The focal point is the
two-story foyer atrium, consisting of a glass curtain wall
system. The curtain wall and all windows feature high energy-efficiency glazing. The building consists of two wings
connected by an expansive central core foyer. The office
areas feature ample open space to receive systems
furniture, with select "hard wall" perimeter offices for
management, conference, training rooms and support.
The foyer presents a sophisticated palette of stained
mahogany door panels, wood wall paneling in an African
mahogany veneer with ½" reveals, and an up-scale,
heavy-duty vinyl tile in finishes of sandstone and oak
plank. Wall features include wall coverings by Genesys
in Sandfoot Flex Wood with black semi-gloss paint. The
reception desk features matching wood paneling with "Spa"
3Form countertop in the Varia Textura line.
