Stamps Design
Group
(SDG)
was founded in July 2004, by J. Greg Stamps,
former partner with the Architectural-Engineering Design firm,
Maffett·Stamps
pllc. We are a full-service architectural and planning firm,
serving the private and public sectors. We provide an array of
design, planning, programming and assessment needs for new
construction or renovation. Our firm’s goals are simple: to
provide fresh, progressive design, introducing an innovative
approach to the process and above all, superior service to our
clients.
Design Team
Principal Greg Stamps, AIA, has
over twenty-five years' experience, being responsible for
projects ranging from small to multi-million dollar complexes.
Every project is given the best possible design and meticulous
attention to detail. He is a mentor to his staff and oversees
all aspects of their work. Greg is a registered architect in the
State of Tennessee and has extensive design experience with
several Tennessee firms. He serves as a consultant with the
CityScape Architectural Design Committee and is a board member
of the City of Cookeville Historic Zoning Commission
Jon Groves has worked on complicated
projects ranging from renovations to new construction. He
manages projects through all phases of development. Jon’s
strengths involve design, technical issues, and maintaining
strong client relations. Jon is a graduate of Tennessee
Technological University (Cookeville), majoring in housing and
design.
Christine Daniels is our intern architect
who has been instrumental in our most complex projects. As
project manager, she is the client’s key advocate to manage both
design and technical components and to ensure project quality.
Christine is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College
of Architecture and Design (Knoxville).
Jeff Waldie brings over ten years of
experience in design, building and construction. Jeff's insights
play a key role in design development and project management. He
works closely with the client and principal to ensure accuracy
and satisfaction for the client. Jeff attended North Central
Michigan College (Petoskey, MI) majoring in architecture.
Barbara Ryan, office manager, joined the
team in 2004. Ms. Ryan holds a BFA from The School of the Art
Institute of Chicago and has extensive administrative
experience. Before moving to Tennessee, Barbara worked as
administrative assistant to the chairman in the Department of
Psychiatry at Brown University (RI) for several years.
In keeping
with cutting-edge technology and industry practice, we have
adopted Building Information Modeling (BIM), the process of
using three dimensional modeling technology for creating,
communicating, and reviewing building information. This 3-D
modality program has the capability to draw walls, roofs, and
other building elements within the plans. Models and sections
can be viewed simultaneously. Material selections may be changed
to simulate changes in design. This program creates
walkthroughs, interior/exterior perspectives, and sun studies to
visualize the final building. BIM generates dimensions,
schedules, and updates automatically, which help to reduce
errors and project costs, shorten project schedules, and
increase project quality. The result is a substantial benefit to
owners and the project team.
Recent
signature projects include: the TennCare office building at
MetroCenter, Nashville, TN; Prosser Hall, a new 96-bed
dormitory, and campus master plan for Bethel College, McKenzie,
TN; the new expansion to Premier Medical Park, Cookeville, TN,
the TC Medical Infinity Building in Cookeville, new libraries in
Pickett and White counties and the DTC Retail Center in
Smithville, Tennessee.
